The Education Institute for Early Intervention (EIEI), Inc is the FIRST Higher Education Career Institute licensed and approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education Board of Private Licensed School for adults.
A training model for ECE professionals in Early Intervention and Special Education to provide effective, appropriate, and quality learning experiences in programs
Young children ages one to five are suspended, expelled, do not attend programs, or never return to programs because of their behaviors. Many Full/Part-time childcare professionals lack training and experience to support and accommodate children with Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and Individual Education Plans (IEPs). The diploma supports the early childcare workforce and educational systems by providing trained individuals to assist qualified (degreed) teachers with children eligible for special education services under Individuals with Disability Education Act (IDEA) law part B and C. These individuals will work with infants, toddlers, and preschool children in early Key Priorities/Primary Activities childcare centers, homes, programs, schools, hospitals, and clinics throughout the state of Pennsylvania. EIEI provides proper special education training in IDEA disability categories, curriculum accommodations and modifications, researched base techniques and interventions, progress monitoring, and data analysis for children eligible for services. Students gain experience in working with exceptional children in childcare and educational setting, through coursework, lectures, role-play, videos, portfolios, exams, and fieldwork.
